Farnborough takes its name from the Anglo-Saxon settlement of Fern Hill and is famous for its international air show and its pioneering in aviation. The Farnborough International Air Show, held in July every two years, attracting a  quarter of a million visitors and is an unrivalled week of aviation excellence and family entertainment.

The airport is now exclusively dedicated to business aviation, TAG Farnborough Airport is the most modern and efficient commercial airport of its kind in Europe. Farnborough Airport is a magnificent gateway to London, making it a most preferred commercial airport.

Farnborough is home to a number of high-tech businesses, including IBM, BAE Systems and Fluor. Farnborough Technology and Innovation Centre is home to a number of major companies and provides a sophisticated research facility, while IQ Farnborough is located on the edge of the town centre and offers a high calibre business environment, including space for a range of companies from start-ups in serviced office space to large scale bespoke buildings.

Transport in Farnborough...

With easy access to London and Basingstoke via the M3 motorway and a 40 minute train ride from London Waterloo.

By Car: The M3 passes from the north of town. London in the north-east is accessible from Farnborough via M3, A325 and A30. It is about 38 miles from Farnborough via M3/M25/M4.

Buses: Stagecoach Hants and Surrey operates most of the bus services linking the Farnborough area and some other destinations. Few other local bus and coach operators are Fleet Buzz, Hampshire Bus, National Express and Countryliner Coaches.

Taxis: There are a number of taxi ranks located throughout Farnborough . Only hackney carriages are allowed to sit and ply for hire on these ranks.

Trains: Farnborough’s main railway station is served by South West Trains. The station is on the main line linking London Waterloo with the south coast and the south west, it has two further station serving regional lines, North Camp Railway Station and Farnborough North. Further information about the facilities at the stations are available on the National Rail website.
